Initially, I did simply because I thought it was funny if a big chunk gets broken everytime mad king slays the audience. I wasn't even standing in front of the mad king, so I only accidentally blocked the view of some ppl initially.

Since ppl were such an as5, I thought they deserved their fun to be ruined. So I moved up to exactly in front of the mad king and had fun with it. They asked for it.

For those who missed it, this is what it was like:

It's not my fault if I'm big. ANET should either make the mad king twice as big next year, or the golems half as small.

A mod should close this thread.

Whats next? you want to ban tall male warriors?

Those people where partaking in an event and enjoying themselves. any "grief" caused was indirect. You dont have to see the mad king, just what he says. People cannot block his chat popups.
Not true. Some of the time, yes, there was simply one person using a tonic in the way, and most of the time would move to the side when prompted. But on most occasion there was a big gang of them who would comlpetely circle the King, just to annoy other players.

As I said before, EVERY time I went to this event, there was at least one person who ran right up to the King and said "lol" when people asked him to move.

You guys all got trolled by Golems because you're such huge carebears. If I had a Golem tonic, I'd have been doing every single time the King turned up.

How dare people complain about golems. These complaints are a violation of the following rule:

Quote:
While playing Guild Wars, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players.
By harassing, insulting, and threatening these users who are simply wishing to be near the Mad King, many of you are clearly guilty and should probably be banned.

PS: lol

Dear citizens of Tyria.

We appreciate your feedback on our Mad King protection services, although it was not easy, we persevered and defended him from any threats. You can rest assured that as long as the Mad King exists the GOLEMS will be there to protect him.

Yeah, that's what griefing is.

ANet should know by now that you can't give people the opportunity to ruin for other people on the net, because the fact that they can't get a faceful of fist means they're on a permanent powertrip, and intoxicated with their own leetness will take every such opportunity they find.

I'd like to thank the GW community and ANet for giving us this wonderful oppurtunity, couldn't have done it without you guys. We'd be honored to serve as the Mad King's guard again next year.

I must thank the Guild Wars community for being such an awesome audience, although the personal attacks were totally uncalled for, and were quite hurtful sometimes.

This is basically the equivalent of going to a gig, but having the bands completely blocked. It doesn't matter, because you can still hear them, right?

Come on, this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

What? No. Just no. That is NOTHING like that.

Also, wtf serious problem? Needs to be addressed? Are you high? There's NOTHING serious about this. Get over yourself, and stop being such a huge carebear.

How does that argument make ANY sense? I'm not throwing a tantrum, in what way do I need to "get over myself"? Why is my opinion wrong, why doesn't my analogy work? Saying "no" doesn't just invalidate my opinion.

I don't see how this makes me a "care bear". If anything, it's you guys who seem to be over reacting. All I've said is that I would have liked to be able to see the Mad King, he's one of the reasons to attend the festival. Having him blocked out clearly did ruin the event for many. I'm not screaming, I'm not trying to claim anyone should be banned, just that something should be done in the future to prevent this kind of thing. I enjoy seeing the Mad King, and I would have liked to be able to take a few screens of him. Why do you think it's okay for these players to go out of their way to try and ruin the event for others?

So get over your selves, your opinions aren't automatically better just because it's something you don't care about. Throwing insults at me doesn't change anything.

If you can receive a temp ban for spamming all chat or for having a name offensive to some, then yes, this could easily qualify too.

I love the "arguments" of the pro-griefers.

You could go to another district. Same applies to spamming all chat, no?
You should stop being a care-bear. Ad hominem FTW!
There's world hunger, dude. Non sequitur FTW!
You make me feel bad by criticizing this on a forum. Candidate for dumbest post of the thread.
It doesn't bother me, so it shouldn't bother you. Narcissism FTW!

Those of you opposed to the griefing, however, should have a little sympathy for the other side. Something like 70% of people who bully or grief were physically or sexually abused by an older relative when they were a child. They try to hurt others to help them deal with that pain. A little compassion is appropriate.

If you're too stupid to see how interacting with a computer online is different from going to a live band concert, there's not much anyone can say to you that will change your mind. But just in case you've never actually been to a rock concert, people stand up in front of you all the time. You can either continue sitting down and staring at their asses or you can stand up. It's not a hard decision to make.

We're overreacting how? We didn't start a thread bitching about people who bitched at us, we're just responding to it. Not angrily, either, I might add.

I'm pretty sure we were protecting the mad king from angry onlookers. You should have seen how many people were ticked at his jokes.

Nobody said our opinions are better. We're just saying "welcome to the internet, I see you're new here."

Yes, standing still is definitely the same as spamming all chat. Everyone who stands still for longer than 30 minutes should be tempbanned, as they are interfering with others' ability to take screenshots of the scenery of the area.

Great job, you must have excelled in middle school debate class. However, being a carebear isn't always bad - it's the stupid carebears who are the problem. Tell me how to cure stupidity and I'll never stand in front of the mad king ever again.

So their argument of "it bothers me, so you should be banned for it" isn't every bit as narcissistic? Oh, okay.

When I have no idea what I'm saying, I like to pull out bullshit statistics and indirect ad hominem attacks in a weak attempt to appeal to emotion. We should hang out sometime, we have a lot in common.
